KZN Wildlife Kosi Bay Office burns down
Kosi Bay Office burns down
November 8, 2006;
The visitor Reception Centre at Kosi Bay Nature Reserve managed by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife burnt
to the ground in the early hours of Tuesday 07 November 2006. At 05.00 staff heard the roaring
sound of a big fire and rushed to the office, only find the wooden building engulfed in flames.
It was impossible to save the structure and its contents and staff could only watch as it was
reduced to ashes within about half an hour. There were no injuries, although all the office
equipment was destroyed. Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife is conducting an investigation into the cause of the
fire, and asks visitors to Kosi Bay to bear with them until temporary arrangements can be put in
place.
There will be no cold drink, bait or ice sales until alternative arrangements can be put in
place.
