KZN WILDLIFE RHINO AUCTION A GREAT SUCCESS
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife reports that its Rhino Auction held at their Queen Elizabeth Park
headquarters in Pietermaritzburg on 23 August 2008 was a huge success, bringing in R6.7 million.
32 white rhino came under the hammer fetching an average price of R195 875, while another 330
head of game including warthogs, zebra blue wildebeest and impala were also sold.
Like the main game auction held in May, this auction is also designed to dispose of animals
surplus to the needs of the many protected areas managed by the organisation.
All the animals sold will be caught by the Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife Game Capture Unit during the
coming two months.
