FEATURES

  14 DARGLE VALLEY

Described as irreplaceable, this unique valley's biodiversity may come onto the international radar with approaches to Ramsar - an international convention protecting wetlands worldwide. Read this account in Wildside of Dargle Valley to learn about this important region. In addition to the conservation spread, Wildside visited the valley to bring you information about three great little places to stay at including a quaint stone cottage or two.

28 INJISUTHI

Wildside has brought you many 'Big Berg' adventures and even some hard core hiking, but at this time of the year we thought we'd opt for a 'Berg spot that you could• take your children to and encourage them to experience these magical mountains with you. Easy day wal ks, affordable accommodation, all without sacrificing the inspiration the magnificent 'Berg mountains bring. But, always remember to take wate~ a warm top, and good shoes no matter how easy the day walk.

40 SPA TRENDS

Sparfari is a good combo work to describe many of the new spas on the block with their positioning in game reserves or just in great big outdoor environments. This large spread of spa options should surely encourage any stressed out person to consider getting out there, and there are numerous options to choose from. At most of these spas you can pop in for a day visit, although we'd always recommend a night or two at least.

ECOTOURISM, OUTDOOR ADVENTURE & CONSERVATION

34 MBOTYI RIVER LODGE

Although we sent Kim Wild off to Mbotyi River Lodge, as always Kim is sure to look-up and find more than one place to stay so she can extend her traveling time, and we are so glad she did. She loved Mbotyi and said it was a perfect spot for a December family holiday - but hurry and book as they are filling up. Kim also discovered Wild Coast Kitchen a delightful must go to place, not to mention the local outdoor spa.

S3 MALIBA - LESOTHO

Lesotho is a beautiful country with beautiful people. Wildside heads out there as often as possible, from ski-ing there in winter, to discovering a brand new luxury lodge in the middle of nowhere, Lesotho always delights and if you are after some solitude in another land, Maliba Lodge in the Tsehlanyane National Park is a great destination.

60 KINGS COUNTRY

Swaziland, this small strong and interesting country has its own tourism vibe and Debbie Cooper went there for a weekend to bring you a story and some interesting non-brochure information which we are sure you will appreciate and no doubt encourage the adventurous to take a drive to Swaziland and experience something different.

6S CONSERVATION

Wildside is about ecotravel, outdoor adventure and of course conservation because we know our readers care about the earth. Wildlands Conservation Trust looks at community conservation, Sappi tells of projects - which include places to stay, while Ezemvelo I

Wildside is in its third edition on the retail shelves and is excited to bring readers a new take on ecotravel, conservation and outdoor adventure.
