Getting married is such a special time -and all couples want a memorable, beautiful setting in which to exchange their vows. Somewhere special and romantic... and few places are more breathtaking and special than the magnificent Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Mountains (a World Heritage Site) in South Africa's Zulu Kingdom.

Cathedral Peak in the Central Berg, offers some of the most spectacular scenery imaginable. That's why it was chosen as the location for the new, luxurious Didima Camp, which has been themed around the art of the San people due to its fantastic rock art shelters nearby. Didima is ideal for weddings as it is large enough to accommodate fairly large wedding parties -while still retaining an intimate feel to it and rates are extremely reasonable. Guests can just stay over for the night of the wedding if they wish as there is no minimum stay (unlike many other hotels who have a minimum 2 or 3 night stay making it rather expensive) -but at this incredibly reasonable rate, most guests will want to stay on longer to enjoy the many walks and hikes in the area.

The Camp offers 2 four-bed chalets, a six-bed bungalow and 62 two-bed luxury chalets that are side by side with an optional inter-Ieading door ...making them ideal for families as they can be converted into a four-bed family unit with self-catering facilities. The Camp also boasts a fantastic honeymoon suite with crisp white linen, picture windows boasting views of the mountains and romantic fireplaces in both the bedroom and the comfy lounge. The bathroom boasts a jacuzzi bath and shower for two...

But the real seller is that the camp has its very own twin thatched wedding chapel and adjoining reception venue. The chapel is magnificent ...with its entire back of glass -framing the magnificent splendour of Cathedral Peak! An amazing backdrop in which to exchange vows and capture the moments on camera.

There is a lovely and very capable organiser who will see to their every need -who can arrange everything from the flowers, to menus, to ceremony handout, seating plans and baby sitters -all at a very reasonable cost! They can also put couples in touch with local, reputable florists, DJ's, photographers and anyone else they might need!

Our beautiful Wedding Venue and Reception Centre offers you a Magnificent view of Cathedral Peak from our twin thatched Cave-like structures with full height glass windows framing the scenic splendour of the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park.

Accommodation offered in the Camp is as follows;

34 x 2 Bed Self-Catering Chalets
28 x 2 Bed Non Self-Catering

Our tariffs which apply for guests are as follows;
Accommodation Only – R380.00 per person per night
Bed & Breakfast - R450.00 per person per night
Any other special packages may be discussed and arranged on request
Our Honeymoon Suite is offered on a complimentary basis for the Bridal night

PLEASE NOTE: Accommodation Bookings for your guests will be done by the camp, but bookings for guests may only be arranged by completion of the attached form. This form is to be faxed to the following number:

036 – 4881346. Prior arrangements for email bookings may also be done.
No telephonic bookings will be taken by the camp.

Menus for the Wedding Reception at various Price Ranges include the following categories;

Samples of some suggested menus can be obtained from the Conference Coordinator. Please be advised that we are more that willing to discuss various options to meet with your personal preferences. Please be advised that the menu`s are purely a guideline. Once you have decided on a menu of your choice, our Catering Department will prepare a quotation for you.

Either an open bar, limited bar or cash bar are available on request.

Venue Details
The Chapel costs R1200.00 per day. The Main Hall costs R1800 per day, while a combination of both venues costs R3000 per day.
