MPILA CAMP
Centrally situated in the Imfolozi section, Mpila Camp commands magnificent views of the Wilderness area.

Mpila also has two self-contained 3-bedroomed cottages, each accommodating seven people, with a cook on hand to prepare food supplied by guests. For smaller groups, there are also six self-catering chalets which accommodate five people each. These have two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, and a lounge/diningroom. The Safari Tented Camp at Mpila consists of thirteen 2 - bedded and two 4 - bedded units, all with kitchen and bathroom en-suite. An optional third bed is available in each tent on request. Each unit has a verandah and is electrified. A fully equipped kitchen and dining area is connected to each tent by a wooden boardwalk. Barbecue facilities are available. These units are self-catering and are serviced daily. Unleaded petrol, only, is available, and a curio shop, stocking a variety of things, such as cool drinks, curios, books and clothing can be purchased from the Mpila Camp Shop, but no provisions or restaurant facilities are provided. The curio shop also stocks a fair selection of basic groceries, but supply of fresh vegetables, meat and perishables (cheese and bread) can be quite erratic.

Mpila have recently been upgraded all the old rest huts to 2 - bed chalets with ensuite bathrooms, kitchenettes (equipped with a stove and fridge) and a lovely wooden deck on the front. All twelve 2 - bedded chalets are self-catering units, with crockery and utensils provided. Each unit has a veranda, is electrified and has braai facilities available. These self contained units have 2 beds, but an additional pull out beds, suitable only for children, can be requested. Guests are requested to note that Mpila is powered by a generator, which runs daily between 07h00 and 22h00 only.

Masinda Lodge:
This secluded lodge sleeps six people in three bedrooms, all of which are en-suite. This is a self-catered lodge. While the lodge offers a cook to prepare food supplied by guests, there are no field guides to conduct walks. Guests who wish to undertake drives or walks, should take note that all walks and drives are conducted from Mpila camp, and are not included in the overnight price. The lounge at Masinda boasts a Tv and DSTV.


Gqoyeni Bush Lodge
Elevated on a peninsula overlooking the confluence of the Black Imfolozi River and the Gqoyeni Stream, this bush lodge offers excellent game viewing opportunities in an ideal setting. Four 2 bed units, each with individual showers and toilets, are linked by wooden walkways to a central living area. A cook is available to prepare food supplied by guests, and a field ranger conducts walks into the surrounding bushveld.


Hlatikulu Bush Lodge
Elevated on a terrace overlooking the Black Imfolozi this lodge is situated in the heart of the park and provides excellent opportunities for walks. Four 2-bed units, each with individual showers and toilets, are linked by wooden walkways to a central living area. A cook is available to prepare food supplied by guests, and a field ranger conducts walks into the surrounding bushveld.


Nselweni Bushcamp :
Nselweni Lodge is situated on the bank of the Black iMfolozi river with a superb view of the river, lush bush veld and an occasional sighting of the Big 5. Nselweni Lodge is an ideal venue for the perfect getaway to unwind. All 8 two bed chalets can be booked individually and they are self-catering, with a shower, toilet and kitchen. A cook is provided only for group bookings from 4 - 8 units. The communal lounge is fully equipped with 20 seater chairs, DSTV and couches. The price does not include the cook and all activities (drives and walks), which are operated from Mpila Camp. This is a community lodge run by Ezemvelo. Please note that this lodge is powered by solar energy.
