KZN GOVERNMENT TO TABLE BUDGET VOTES FOCUSING ON ECONOMIC RECALIBRATION AND REBUILDING THE PROVINCE
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government will on Tuesday, 18 April 2023 start tabling departmental budgets in the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature which are expected to prioritise the implementation of the Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan in the province.
Through the Budget Votes the Departments will give a clear indication on how they will fast track service delivery to the people while implementing the key priorities as detailed by the Premier during the State of the Province Address.
The Budget Votes being tabled on Tuesday includes the Office of the Premier and the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs.
KwaZulu-Natal Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube will table the Office of the Premier's Budget Policy Speech and provide pertinent updates at 11h40. Focus will be on outlining the budget allocations of key priorities for the province and support to the Zulu Royal Household.
This will be followed by the Budget Policy Speech for the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs under the leadership of MEC Siboniso Duma at 14h30 at the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature.
MEC Duma will outline the department's interventions as part of economic recalibration, reconstruction and recovery which target increasing the levels of investment in priority sectors, infrastructure development, export development and support to SMMEs.
Provincial Treasury led by MEC Neliswa Peggy Nkonyeni will be the last to deliver the Budget Vote on Friday, 21 April 2023.
